Marble Run

As bedtime neared, Cooper was hard at work building another marble track to race his marbles down.  He called us all into his room to watch the marbles roll down his latest creation.  This is one of his favourite activities at the moment and he is really good at building different tracks in all different shapes and sizes.

Snakes

Cooper was in his room napping when multi-coloured snakes started appearing under his door.   Not only does New Zealand not have any multi-coloured snakes, there are no snakes in the wild.  That is except in Cooper’s room.

Jumping

We have two very fun, giant trampoline places by us and the best part is Cooper is almost free with a paid adult (me).  Cooper loves jumping high and off almost anything, completely opposite of Ellie when she was young.  He can jump and spin around.  He also likes jumping and then bouncing on his bottom.  He hasn’t figured out how to bounce up from sitting and he doesn’t care at all.  He just laughs and jumps again.  He couldn’t jump far enough to make it into the foam pit unless I helped him jump high and then pushed (threw) him into the pit.

Yogurt

How many spoons does Cooper need to eat yogurt?  The answer is 4.  Three in the yogurt cup and a spare on the table.

Cootie Bug

Cooper has always loved this game and making the bugs without playing the game.  He has always had problems getting the feet on.  This was his first time being able to create the whole bug.  He was so proud and showed us his colourful creation.

Olaf – Best friend

Cooper loves his Olaf.  It is his one special stuffed toy.  I was lucky to catch this amazing moment of Cooper quietly reading Ellie’s Frozen Olaf book to Olaf.

Inflatable World

Ellie and Cooper were invited to a birthday party at Inflatable World.  They had a blast!  Cooper is still small enough to go in the little kids bouncy castles but brave enough to venture with the big kid into the large slides and inflatable courses.

Cookies!

I found a recipe for Salted Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies that looked and sounded so good, we had to make them.  After purchasing all the ingredients and mentioning the word Cookie to the kids, we set off to make them.   Ellie and Cooper put on their aprons and got to work.  Cooper helped me brown the butter as Ellie put all of the dry ingredients in a bowl.  She read and measured all by herself!  Then we had to wait an hour while the cooled down before we could continue.  Perfect time for some pictures and play for the kids.  Then Ellie helped make all the cookie balls and carefully placed the salt flakes on each cookie before I put them into the oven.

These cookies turned out incredible!  We had made them again a few times.  If you want the recipe go to:    http://whatsgabycooking.com/salted-brown-butter-chocolate-chip-cookies/

Swim Practice

Cooper finally likes getting in the pool but doesn’t like getting splashed or his head wet.  Cooper’s swim teacher asked him to practice getting his head wet at home. Cooper did have fun playing in the bath but didn’t want to get his hair wet.  He is OK putting his face in the water, including his eyes, and blowing bubbles.

Trophy

Ellie thought Cooper deserved a trophy and made him one!
